Analytics and actuarial consultants
Office: Any location in Australia and New Zealand
Taylor Fry’s actuarial and analytics consultants help business and government leaders make strategic, data-informed decisions that strengthen organisations and benefit communities.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to be an actuary to apply – we’re particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in mathematics, statistics, data science, engineering, physics, computer science or related disciplines.
We’re looking for an early-career consultant, from any location in Australia or New Zealand, with strong analytical capability and a genuine interest in solving complex problems with data. You’ll have up to two years’ experience in an actuarial, analytics or other technical role, in either consulting or a corporate environment.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Strong quantitative capability, including a sound understanding of predictive modelling, statistics and/or machine learning
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to absorb information quickly, think critically and manage competing priorities
- An ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns and draw clear insights, with high attention to detail and a disciplined approach to technical work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders
- Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn, contribute and work collaboratively
- Creative thinking, with an appetite to explore new analytical approaches and contribute to R&D
- A genuine interest in using analysis to solve meaningful problems and make a difference.
About our role
As a consultant, you’ll work across our business lines on projects spanning advanced analytics, insurances, social sector, health and disability.
You’ll work closely with senior staff to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions using data modelling, quantitative analysis and advanced analytics. You’ll have regular client exposure, contribute to project decisions, and bring your analytical perspective to delivery and business development.
You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to R&D and shape new products and analytical approaches.
From the outset, you’ll be involved in technical work, build consulting skills on the job, collaborate with colleagues and work alongside a range of clients.
About our business
We’re creative problem solvers with backgrounds spanning actuarial, physics, engineering, mathematics and computer science. That diversity strengthens the advice we give and the outcomes we help our clients achieve.
We help business and government leaders see a clear way forward by listening closely to their challenges and helping them make strategic, data-informed decisions with clarity and confidence.
We combine deep industry knowledge with actuarial and advanced analytics to deliver solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Rigour, innovation and technical excellence are as important to us as our human approach, and our work has influenced government policy in Australia and New Zealand, particularly in the social sector.
About our culture
We were established to create a collaborative environment where people are encouraged and rewarded for working together. We support our employees’ growth and interests, and we’re known for great work, innovation and thought leadership. Our people enjoy immersing themselves in technical detail and can deepen that expertise through rotations in TF Labs, our research and development arm.
We take an active interest in our people’s careers and promote work practices that support wellbeing, mental wellness and work-life balance. Our benefits include flexible work hours, remote working, paid parental leave, profit-share bonuses and a mix of social activities to suit different styles.
